One-time Opportunity
MoMath has taken a larger space in an architecturally significantly building at 635 Sixth Avenue. Now, the Museum has a limited time opportunity to take some additional space on the lower level of the new building, which would significantly increase its capacity (from 550 to more than 800 visitors), and which would have a material impact on its ability to serve a greater number of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, to explore new programs and exhibits, and to create a more gracious space for events. Exhibits on music and on AI are among those that would also find a home if the Museum can land this new space.
MoMath will be able to take the space if it can raise the funds, so efforts are underway to find a broad group of supporters who together can make this happen. The Museum has raised half of what is needed, but last week brought interesting news: the landlord offered about a year of free rent on the additional space, but only if MoMath signs for it by the end of this month. The Museum is hoping to coalesce a group of interested parties who together can make this happen.
Please consider committing to a donation for this purpose, to help ensure that MoMath can capitalize on this incredible opportunity. Donations of $4k per year over five years will make you a Founder of the new Museum, included on the Founders’ Wall. But also note that any amount given for this specific purpose would be helpful — not only to accumulate the needed funds, but because it’s important for the Museum to have widespread support. It really does take a village.
Construction is underway! Thank you for considering this request. It would truly be transformative for the Museum to be able to take this space.
