Family Fridays:
"
Re-flexions: a new look at flexagons"

Friday, December 17 at 6:30 pm ET (New York)

(in-person)

In this hands-on workshop, Yana Mohanty will (re)visit the subject of flexagons.  Whether you are new to flexagons or already a fan, join us in exploring their mechanical and topological properties.  As we build together, you will see that the fun of flexagons goes far beyond fidgeting!

Yana Mohanty is the creator of Geometiles®, a multi-award-winning set of interlocking tiles that support math exploration for students, parents, teachers, and the curious.  Geometiles® are available for purchase at Additions, the shop at Momath.

This is an in-person event at the National Museum of Mathematics at 11 East 26th Street in NYC.  Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the event to complete registration.

Note that masks must be worn at all times inside the Museum and that all visitors must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to be admitted (photocopies of vaccination cards will not be accepted).
