QED: a conversation about
math and math education

Hosted by David Reimann
with special guest Dr. Nat Stahl

Monday, April 14
6:30 pm to 7:30 pm ET

(online)

Join David Reimann, MoMath’s 2024-2025 Visiting Professor for Public Outreach, as he welcomes Dr. Nat Stahl to the MoMath stage for an engaging conversation about math and math education.

Dr. Nat Stahl began his teaching career at the Suffolk County House of Correction, where he taught mathematics as part of a GED program for incarcerated students.  Since then, he has taught math across a wide range of settings — including high schools, K–8 classrooms, after-school Math Circles, undergraduate and graduate courses, and field trip programs at the National Museum of Mathematics.

In 2017, Nat became MoMath’s Chief of Education, a role he held until 2022.  During his tenure, he led a dynamic team of educators, developed innovative programming, taught classes and summer camp sessions, and played a key role in transitioning MoMath’s offerings online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, Nat teaches AP Calculus and Dual Enrollment mathematics at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Outside the classroom, he enjoys cooking and playing the Great Highland bagpipe.

These are online-only events.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
