Celebrate Valentine’s Day with paper, pattern, and a some math fun.  Join Dave Masunaga, veteran math educator and nationally recognized speaker, for a hands-on origami workshop where you’ll fold a beautiful Valentine’s box while exploring the deep connections between mathematics, art, and design.  This family-friendly activity is a joyful way to create something meaningful — and take home a handmade gift to enjoy.

For more than 35 years, Dave Masunaga has been balancing the full-time demands of the middle and high school mathematics classroom with research and leadership in mathematics and education, including a focus on the relationship between these areas and the visual and performing arts.  Masunaga was a director of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and he has given hundreds of public talks on mathematics and mathematics-related areas to both general and technical audiences.
