Meet a Mathematician:
Maria Nogin
Hosted by David Reimann
Tuesday, July 1
6:30 pm to 7:30 pm ET
(online)

Did you ever wonder what a mathematician does all day? Or what made someone decide to become a mathematician? Or even, what a mathematician does for fun? You may be surprised by some of the answers!
Join David Reimann, MoMath’s 2024–2025 Visiting Professor for Public Outreach, as he welcomes Maria Nogin to the MoMath stage to share her experiences, her story, and her love of mathematics.
Maria Nogin received her Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Rochester in 2023. She is currently a professor of mathematics at Fresno State. Maria enjoys problem solving and discovering patterns and connections across academic and recreational mathematics. She is the founder of the Fresno Math Circle, an enrichment program for K–12 students, where she shares the joy of mathematics through problems, games, and puzzles — including Rubik’s cubes.
