(online)

Ingrid Daubechies Marsha Berger

Did you ever wonder what a mathematician does all day?  Or what made someone decide to become a mathematician?  Or even, what a mathematician does for fun?  You may be surprised by some of the answers!

Join Ingrid Daubechies, MoMath’s 2023–2024 Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Public Dissemination of Mathematics, as she welcomes mathematicians to the MoMath stage to share their experiences, their story, and their love of mathematics.

Anna Wienhard is a Director at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, in Leipzig, Germany.  Her interests lie in geometry, group theory, and dynamics.  Anna received her PhD in 2004 at the University of Bonn.  Subsequently she held positions at the Institute for Advanced Study, University of Chicago, Princeton University, and Heidelberg University.  Anna is one of the inaugural Fellows of the American Mathematical Society and has received a ERC Consolidator Grant, ERC Advanced Grant, and the Hector Science Award 2022.
