High School Integrators Volunteer Program
Each academic year, MoMath accepts a very limited number of mathematically-talented high school students for ongoing volunteer roles in the Museum. The Integrators program offers a unique chance to improve interpersonal and communication skills, explore mathematical concepts, and learn valuable job skills. MoMath Integrators interact with visitors (on the Museum floor and online) and train with renowned mathematicians, professional educators, interpreters, and managers. The applicant pool is highly competitive and many Integrators go on to top colleges.
Please note that the High School Integrators Volunteer Program is unpaid. Participants are eligible to accrue hours towards the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), a program for which MoMath carries the honor of serving as a Certifying Organization. Recipients of the PVSA gold award receive a letter of appreciation from the President of the United States and a certificate.
High School Integrators Volunteer Program: Summer 2025
Students who participate in the summer program must commit to volunteer for five (eight-hour) days a week, including a Saturday or Sunday, for a minimum of eight weeks during the summer. The summer program typically runs from Memorial Day weekend to the weekend after Labor Day.
Applications, and supporting materials, for the Summer 2025 program are welcome now through April 2025. Interviews are usually conducted in May with successful candidates being notified in May/early June, and a July 1 start date, or sooner.

High School Integrators Volunteer Program: School Year 2025-2026
Students who participate during the school year must commit approximately one eight-hour day per week, typically a Saturday or Sunday, from September through June.
Applications, and supporting materials, for the School Year 2025-2026 are welcome through July 2025. Interviews are usually conducted in August with successful candidates notified in August and a start date on or before Labor Day weekend.

Integrator (Volunteer Docent)
MoMath accepts volunteer Integrators who interact with individual visitors and school groups on the exhibition floor in order to help them have a rewarding Museum experience. Integrators engage with children and adults exploring the Museum, and explain the various math concepts demonstrated through the exhibits. This position requires a strong math background, the ability to connect with learners of all ages, and a comfort with hands-on education. More information is available here.

Other volunteer opportunities
MoMath welcomes volunteers who provide valuable support in a variety of individual ways across the Museum, in both public-facing and internal roles. Some common examples include assisting with check-in and registration for Museum programs, and interacting with visitors at the events and demonstrations MoMath presents at locations around New York City and in other cities. MoMath also benefits from professionals who generously donate their expertise and time as educators, administrators, and technologists. To apply, please email the following materials to volunteer@momath.org with a subject line that includes “Volunteer” and your name: a cover letter that describes your background and how you might contribute; your résumé, including grade point averages; and a freshly written 150- to 500-word statement describing your views on mathematics or a life experience you have had related to mathematics.
