Sundays, 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm ET

(in person)

Session I: April 30, May 7, and May 21

Session II: June 4, June 11, and June 25
No class on June 18

In the Geometric Explorations series highlighting the beauty of geometry, mathematician and educator Chaim Goodman-Strauss will guide high school students as they explore the hands-on mathematics of surfaces and 3D geometric forms.  The series will offer two stand-alone, three-session mini-courses.

In Geometric Explorations I, students will explore symmetry and polyhedra.  Sessions will meet in person on April 30, May 7, and May 11.  Click here to register for Geometric Explorations I.

In Geometric Explorations II, students will explore the curvature of surfaces.  Sessions will meet in person on June 4, June 11, and June 25.  Click here to register for Geometric Explorations II.

You may register for the entire series (both mini-courses) at a discount.  Click here to register for both Geometric Explorations I and II at a discounted rate.

Prerequisites: Algebra and an enthusiasm for math, especially geometry.  Even though some advanced ideas will be covered, most of the discussions will be informal and intuitive.

Location: This program will be held in person at MoMath (11 E 26 St, between Fifth and Madison).

Financial aid: Limited funding is available for students who demonstrate a strong interest in mathematics and whose families are facing financial hardship.  For further information, please email scholarships@momath.org.
