Ramsey Theory:
from the happy-ending theorem to Graham’s number

"Coloring Infinite Combs"

Thursday, May 20 at 6:30 pm ET (New York)

Appropriate for ages 14 and up

In honor of Ronald Graham, who passed away last summer, Paul Zeitz presents a three-part mini-course that explores Ramsey Theory, the study of order within randomness — and the mathematical glue of the long friendship between Graham and the eccentric genius Paul Erdős.

In this second session of a three-part mini-course, the following topics will be discussed: Van der Waerden’s theorem and beyond.

While registration for standalone sessions is allowed and catch-up notes will be provided, attending all three sessions is strongly encouraged for the best possible experience.  Note that no refunds will be offered.  To register for all three sessions, click here.

This is a live-streamed event.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
