Join David Reimann, MoMath’s 2024-2025 Visiting Professor for Public Outreach, as he welcomes Pam Brett to the MoMath stage for an engaging conversation about math and math education.

Pam Brett is the host of Blue Glasses Math, a podcast dedicated to shifting perspectives on what it means to be a “math person.”  With over 25 years of experience supporting elementary and middle school educators, she empowers teachers to build confidence in math instruction.  She is the Executive Coordinator of Teacher Outreach for the Association of Math Teachers of New Jersey (AMTNJ), leading efforts to support math educators statewide.

Pam earned her doctorate in Mathematics Education from Rutgers University, where she was a research fellow for the NSF-sponsored Metro Math project, studying the role of emotions in learning and teaching math in urban settings.  Her work champions positive teacher-student interactions that foster curiosity and resilience.

Through her podcast, workshops, and mentorship, Pam inspires educators to shift their perspective on what it means to learn math in order to transform their approach to teaching math, making space for mistakes, exploration, and true mathematical thinking.
