Sunday Symmetry Strolls

With Chaim Goodman-Strauss

Sunday, September 21
4:45 pm to 5:45 pm
(in person)

Join MoMath’s celebrated Outreach Mathematician (and co-discoverer of the hat tile) Chaim Goodman-Strauss for a walk down Broadway along the historic stretch known as Ladies’ Mile.  Tracing a corridor of cast-iron columns, tiled façades, and ornate cornices, this one-hour stroll uncovers hidden symmetries that 19th-century architects wove into the streetscape, revealing a quiet geometry humming beneath the urban bustle.  Part visual puzzle, part architectural time capsule, this tour invites participants to experience the city as a silent, symmetrical score.

Meet in Additions, the shop at MoMath, for check-in.  Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
