# Mathematical Fusion: "Geometry and Number Theory"

#### Part Three of a series with Paul Zeitz Wednesday, October 28 at 6:30 pm ET

Join MoMath favorite Paul Zeitz in a three-part series exploring branches of math that fuse two seemingly mismatched topics.

Part Three: Hermann Minkowski realized that his student Einstein’s relativity theory implied the marriage of space and time.  But a decade earlier, Minkowski presided over another unexpected union, that of geometry and number theory.  Investigate Minkowski’s little-known "geometry of numbers" to see how a careful contemplation of area, volume, and graph paper leads to surprising insight into questions that eluded mathematicians for years.

To register for this individual event for $15, please enter your information on this page Click here to register for the first part of the series, "Electrical Circuits and Random Walks." Click here to register for the second part of the series, "Number Theory and Statistics." To register for all three events at a discounted price of$40, click here.

This event is appropriate for adults and for students ages 12 and up.

This is a live-streamed event.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
