Come one, come all, for another edition of the one-of-a-kind MoMath Masters, the exciting annual competition and fundraiser.  Put your thinking caps on for this fun-filled night, from the challenging competition round, to the entertaining evening program, right through to the suspenseful finals.  Participate or just come to watch; a good time is had by all.

For tournament participants, the First Round of competition begins at 4:00 pm ET (New York) and ends at 5:30 pm ET (New York).  This portion of the event will be hosted via MoMath's online competition platform (Zoom not required).

For competitors and spectators alike, the evening program — featuring entertainment and the exciting, live Finals Round — kicks off at 7:00 pm ET (New York) via Zoom.

First, we’ll be welcomed by Mark Levine, the 28th Borough President of Manhattan, and Grant Sanderson, the creator of 3Blue1Brown, a wildly popular YouTube channel devoted to appreciating and understanding mathematics more deeply by visualizing it.  For a special treat, support the Museum at the Integral Supporter level or higher for the opportunity to chat more personally with Mark Levine and Grant Sanderson at an exclusive pre-event meet-and-greet.

Entertainment will feature special guest Will Calhoun, multiple Grammy-award winning drummer for the band Living Colour, progressive and electronic percussionist, producer, songwriter, teacher, and artist.

Note: This is an adult-only event and the competition is not open to current college students.

Details about the 2022 MoMath Masters Tournament

Guests who support MoMath at the Taxicab Teammate level and above are eligible for the competition portion of this event.

Tournament competitors may begin the First Round between 4:00 pm and 4:45 pm ET (New York) and will be given 45 minutes to answer questions on the competition platform, starting from the moment you view your first question.  Your clock cannot be paused, but you will be offered opportunities to extend your time beyond the standard 45 minutes.  The First Round ends at 5:30 pm ET (New York), regardless of how much time you have remaining.

The MoMath Masters features three categories of questions: Math Pulse (trivia), Gardner Greats (logic puzzles), and Math Classics (contest math questions).  You may choose to focus on a single category or to answer questions from any mix of categories.

After the First Round, all qualifiers for the Finals Round will be notified of their eligibility by phone.  If we can't reach you, you forfeit your position in the Finals Round.  To be called up during the Finals Round, finalists must accept the invitation in a timely fashion and attend the evening program (7:00 pm ET).

You do not need to compete to enjoy the evening program; spectators are welcome.
