“Hyperbolic Play”

featuring Robert Becker

Friday, January 12
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

(in person)

What exactly does it mean for something to be curved?  Can an object be negatively curved?  Come explore the world of hyperbolic geometry with shadows, clay cubes, soap films, and more — you’ll even get to build and take home your own negatively-curved sculpture — and learn how to play tic-tac-toe on it!

Family Fridays is designed to bring family members of all ages together to enjoy a diverse array of engaging mathematical activities, promoting interest and enthusiasm among kids and adults alike.

Thanks to the generous support of Two Sigma, this program is free to attendees.
