Math Encounters:
"Of Tubes and Lips: Resonance and Superposition"
featuring Dan Boye

Wednesday, June 7 at 4:00 pm ET

(in person)

Expression through words and songs are at the heart of human communication.  How do the tubes and lips in our head and neck coordinate vocal expressions ranging from raucous to sublime?  And how far can mathematics go towards modeling the subtleties of the human voice?  Join Dan Boye, the Paul B. Freeland Professor of Physics at Davidson College, at June's Math Encounters.  Special introduction by Bryan Perri, musical director for Wicked, Jagged Little Pill, and Almost FamousMath Encounters is MoMath's popular free public presentation series celebrating the spectacular world of mathematics, produced with support from the Simons Foundation.
