MathPlay for Rhombuses (4s):
"Back and Forth Addition"
Wednesday, June 2 at 3:00 pm ET (New York)
In this class, children will discover they can change the order of two numbers they are adding together and the sum will remain the same. For example: 5 + 3 = 8 and 3 + 5 = 8. The children will be able to find missing numbers to solve equations that apply to the principle of "back and forth" addition also know as the Commutative Property of Addition.
Materials needed: activity sheets to be provided (print prior to session) and one marker or pencil.
