Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of addition by counting and adding images of butterflies, bumblebees and flowers. They will solve addition equations with a sum of 6. Children will practice their addition skills by determining how many more gum balls are needed to fill a ten frame. Children will have fun adding the number of spots on a ladybug while listening to the story How Many Spots on a Ladybug by Allyn Fisher.
Materials needed: activity sheets to be provided (to be printed prior to session) and one marker or pencil.
