Did you ever wonder what a mathematician does all day?  Or what made someone decide to become a mathematician?  Or even, what a mathematician does for fun?  You may be surprised by some of the answers!  Join Steven Strogatz, MoMath's Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Public Dissemination of Mathematics, as he brings diverse and talented guests to the MoMath stage to share their experiences, their stories, and their love of mathematics.

In July, meet Nalini Joshi.  Nalini had an unusual childhood in Myanmar.  She is now an Australian mathematician known for her work on the very beautiful kinds of differential equations known as “integrable systems.”  She is the first woman to hold a professorship in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sydney and is a Vice President of the International Mathematical Union and a former president of the Australian Mathematical Society.

Please note that this is an online-only event; all registrants will be participating remotely.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
