Family Fridays:
"Escher Explorations"

Friday, September 17 at 6:30 pm ET (New York)

Live-streamed

Join mathematician Doris Schattschneider for a special edition of Family Fridays, as she brings some of the works of Dutch artist M.C. Escher to life in an interactive, engaging session.  Create one of the knots featured Escher’s Knots print and construct your own Möbius band (complete with ants!).

To fully participate, please have the following handy:

  • 16" to 18" of a rope (e.g., clothesline rope), flexible hose or tubing with about 1/2" diameter, or an old bungee cord that can be destroyed
  • Duct tape
  • Scissors
  • Clear tape (e.g., scotch tape)
  • Printed copies of three one-page handouts (provided after registration)

This is a live-streamed broadcast of an in-person event.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
