Modular Mondays

Mondays at 4:30 pm ET (New York)

July 11 through August 29

Appropriate for ages seven and up

(online)

Folding Fridays will become Modular Mondays for the months of July and August.  Modulars are magnificent mathematical models that are made of many easily foldable units, which are then assembled together to form the final shape.  The individual units look different from the final model, making the assembly a fun puzzle that challenges your hand-eye coordination and hones your spatial reasoning skills and, of course, uses plenty of math.  Satisfying to fold and beautiful to behold, these modulars are a favorite for people of all ages and skill levels.

Hosted by origami expert Kathleen Sheridan, this new series is not to be missed — register today for Modular Mondays in July and August!

Some folding experience required.  Less experienced folders may benefit from purchasing videos of previous Folding Fridays events ($15 each) or by becoming a member, which will entitle you to free videos.  Please allow approximately six to eight weeks for each event’s video to be posted.

To participate, you’ll need a minimum of 10 origami papers (between 4″ and 6″ in side length, color/white or pattern/white).  Papers the same color on both sides are not recommended.  Check out the offerings available to ship now from Additions, the shop at MoMath.  You may need a few sheets of printer paper, too.

These are online-only events.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
