The Geometry of Flowers

Tuesday, April 11, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm ET
Hosted in Madison Square Park

(in person)

Come explore the geometry of flowers surrounded by the beautiful gardens of Madison Square Park.  Visit the MoMath table between 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm ET to make your own paper flowers.   Learn about the different symmetries that govern the arrangement of flower petals and the amazing expression of the Fibonacci sequence in the middle of a sunflower.  You’ll find it’s worth your time to stop and count the spirals!
