Brighten your winter with hands-on math fun at the National Museum of Mathematics!
From January 21 through February 5, MoMath on Fifth will be transformed into the lively Winter Math Festival, featuring a dynamic mix of interactive exhibits and engaging mathematical activities. During the Festival, the Museum will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm weekends and from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Explore a variety of hands-on math activities throughout the Festival. Try puzzles, patterns, geometric constructions, and other interactive stations that invite you to experiment, build, compare, and play. Each activity offers a simple, engaging way to explore mathematical ideas through direct experience. The Winter Math Festival offers a bright, energetic way to explore mathematics — a welcoming seasonal outing for families, students, and anyone who enjoys seeing how math comes alive through exciting, hands-on exploration.
Don’t see all your favorite MoMath exhibits during this time? Not to worry — MoMath 2.0 is coming to 635 Sixth Avenue! All the greatest hits from 11 East 26th, your new favorites from MoMath on Fifth, and more than 30 all-new, innovative exhibits are being polished and prepared for the most spectacular MoMath experience yet.

Math That Builds Minds
Russian School of Mathematics is an award-winning after-school math program offering a rigorous K–12 curriculum taught by expert educators. Through deep problem-solving and long-term peer learning, RSM builds mathematical fluency, critical thinking, and confidence for life.

Math Meets Art: Rubik’s Cube Mosaics
Design and build striking mosaics using Rubik’s Cubes in this hands-on workshop. Learn to solve a multicolored face, collaborate on large-scale mosaics of up to 100 cubes, and create your own designs—no prior experience required. -
Jumping Julia: Mazes, Movement & Graph Theory
Step inside a maze! In these life-size Jumping Julia puzzles, participants walk (or jump) through interactive maze designs inspired by classic puzzles. From beginner-friendly layouts to challenging grids, these puzzles reveal deep ideas from graph theory through play, movement, and exploration.

Build & Code Geometry
Build geometric shapes you can take home using colorful Space Chips and a hand cranked press. You’ll be able to cut out and assemble your own Platonic and Archimedean solids and build into complex forms. This is where math and art collide!

Code as a Creative Tool
Turn a bird-shaped robot into a high-tech paintbrush! With simple programming and remote controls, guide Finch robots to zoom, glow, make sounds, and draw geometric designs, exploring how code can be a powerful creative medium.

Let’s Play Math with Tulipán
Inspired by Hungarian mathematician Zoltán Dienes, this interactive experience — developed with math educator Megan Siedman — invites guests of all ages to explore puzzles and games that embody the Tulipán Foundation’s mission of cultural exchange through hands-on learning.
CUNY in Staten Island

Gridlock Games
Engage your brain and activate your puzzle-solving skills with Rubik’s Gridlock, where hands-on challenges bring to life math concepts like symmetry, probability, and logic. Perfect for kids ages four and up (and family members of all ages), this program is hosted by MoMath in collaboration with CUNY in Staten Island and is supported by Spin Master, the official distributor of the Rubik’s Cube.
