math and math education
Hosted by David Reimann
with special guest Andrew Ross
Monday, February 17
6:30 pm to 7:30 pm ET
(online)

Join David Reimann, MoMath’s 2024-2025 Visiting Professor for Public Outreach, as he welcomes Andrew Ross to the MoMath stage for an engaging conversation about math and math education.
Andrew Ross is a researcher and educator specializing in mathematical modeling, data science, and statistics education. His background in operations research, including optimization and stochastic systems, informs his work on transforming real-world problems into mathematical models. He is also involved in training pre-service secondary mathematics teachers through the MODULE(S2) project, which provides active-learning, discussion-based classroom materials for algebra, geometry, modeling, and statistics. His work highlights the role of context, community, and ethics in applying data science and statistics to real-world challenges.
