"Fractal Dragons"

featuring Robert Fathauer

Friday, April 19
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

(in person)

Fractal curves are beautifully complex structures created by repeatedly applying a simple rule.  One of the most famous fractal curves is called the "Heighway dragon,” because its shape ends up looking a lot like a dragon!  Join math hobbyist, artist, and entrepreneur Robert Fathauer and learn how to make your own dragon curve simply by folding a strip of paper.  Then, join in a collaborative construction as we combine everyone’s curves into an even bigger dragon in an evening filled with fractal fun.

Family Fridays is designed to bring family members of all ages together to enjoy a diverse array of engaging mathematical activities, promoting interest and enthusiasm among kids and adults alike.

Thanks to the generous support of Two Sigma, this program is free to attendees.
