Teacher Professional Development Day at MoMath
The National Museum of Mathematics is pleased to offer a one-day professional development program on February 2, 2015. Participate in hands-on interactive activities that reveal the wonders of mathematics, and learn how to spark your students’ curiosity with easy-to-reproduce materials linked to the Common Core curriculum. The workshop will also include a Museum tour.
Mathematical content will feature topics covered in the Common Core standards, including angles, patterns, symmetry, algebraic thinking, number and operations, probability, and the relationship between 2D shapes and 3D objects. Mathematical practices will be infused throughout the day.
Workshops will be provided at two different levels:
- high school teachers (grades 9 through 12)
- upper elementary and middle school teachers (grades 4 through 8)
The workshop will take place from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at MoMath (11 E. 26th St.). The registration fee is $150, which includes the workshop plus Museum admission.
