Codes and Communication for Humans

A three-session minicourse
Mondays, 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm

November 18
November 25
December 2

The cyber world is filled with complex coding and decoding — but that’s for machines.  Join Paul Zeitz to explore how we humans, with our tiny brains, can communicate efficiently, truthfully, and stealthily.  How much can be conveyed with a single bit of information?  It turns out, quite a bit!

Paul Zeitz is a professor of Mathematics at the University of San Francisco, an International Math Olympiad participant and trainer, co-founder and Board Chairman of Proof School, co-founder of the San Francisco Math Circle, co-founder of the Bay Area Math Olympiad, and author of The Art and Craft of Problem Solving.

This minicourse is appropriate for middle-school and above.  Attend one session for $20, or attend all three for $50!
