World Science Festival
Sunday, June 2, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
MoMath takes to the streets again on Sunday, June 2, at NYU’s Gould Plaza. Old favorites and new will delight visitors of all ages as MoMath returns to the street fair for a fifth year of celebrating math on the street. The popular Math Midway 2 Go exhibits, MoMath’s giant walk-on maze mats, and the popular Feedback Fractals interactive all return; brand new collaborative construction events that get everyone involved will be featured throughout the day.

Math Encounters:  Calculated Deceptions
Wednesday, June 5, 4:00 pm (or you may join the waiting list for 7 pm)
Join MoMath on June 5 as Matthew Brand, artist and inventor of the popular Light Grooves exhibit, provides a tour of perception and the math of deception as he discusses computed illusions, including MoMath’s wall of holographic looking metal plates. For further information and to register, visit mathencounters.org.

MoMath Storytime 1-2-3
Thursday, June 20, 4:00 pm
Toddlers and preschoolers, come listen to some number-based stories, then enjoy basic counting and number play activities. For further information and to register, visit storytime123.momath.org.

Filling the Grid:  Scrabble Strategies and Stories from the Pro
Friday, June 28, 7:00 pm
Join MoMath for an evening of Scrabble with three-time national champion Joe Edley. Joe will provide a host of tips and tricks to improve your game, as well as share some of the funny (11 points), ironic (8 points), incredible (15 points), and amazing (38 points, double word score) stories from his life as a Scrabble champ. Don’t forget to bring your Scrabble board! For further information and to register, visit scrabble.momath.org.

Folding in Geometry
Friday, July 19, 7:00 pm
Join the Museum of Mathematics as it presents a very hands-on Family Friday event. Wendy Zeichner and Aldo Putigano of OrigamiUSA, the largest origami organization in the country, will take visitors on a tour of the mountains and valleys of paper folding. Make a piece of paper pop up into a frog; interconnect some paper squares and make a magic star; experiment with shape and color and make something beautiful to take home. Through origami, parents and children alike will explore the geometric properties of objects and how a line here and a line there can result in…a lion here and a lion there. For further information and to register, visit origami.momath.org.

MOVES conference
August 4-6, NYC
Calling all mathematicians: join the National Museum of Mathematics for its first-ever academic conference on recreational mathematics.  Explore America's only museum of math in a night open exclusively to conference attendees, then participate in two days of sessions on the mathematics of games and puzzles. Bring your family along; we'll have a special family track to entertain. For more information and to register, visit moves.momath.org. Also, don’t miss the immediately preceding conference, MAA’s MathFest.

Events, Birthday Parties, and More
Looking to host a one-of-a-kind event where your guests can interact with over two dozen engaging exhibits? Enter a world of mathematical intrigue, but don’t worry, amongst all the activity there is plenty of space for gala-worthy dinners, over-the-top birthday bashes, and mitzvahs.
