Quadrivium, MoMath's Math+Music Salon, featuring DJ Spooky and Rick St. Hilaire
Quadrivium brings together the creative and technical communities in NYC and creates a space where learning and growth are filled with fun, wonder, and warmth. Hosted by Harvard-trained mathematician and popular jazz saxophonist Marcus Miller, this series features engaging discussions and dynamic musical performances, plus an after-event with music by DJ Luna Rosa and a lively dance party on Manhattan's only Voronoi dance floor.
MoMath is delighted to welcome two special guests to the June edition of Quadrivium. Paul D. Miller, otherwise known as DJ Spooky, is a musician, composer, multimedia artist, and philosopher with a profound and insightful take on society’s relationship with technology, history, and nature. Rick St. Hilaire is a two-time Grammy Award-winning audio engineer, film scorer, and sound editor who has worked with many of the biggest artists in the music industry. Join us for a discussion that explores how the mathematics of sound influence the construction of DJ Spooky’s musical work and St. Hilaire’s aesthetic in the mixing room.
