QED: Pitfalls for Parents

Monday, April 24 at 7:00 pm ET

(online)

Want to dive into statistics and data in a classroom?  Consider sports.  Explore questions such as: can a swimsuit make you faster?  Whom should I draft for my fantasy baseball team?  Join Distinguished Visiting Professor Tim Chartier for a lively discussion with special guest Josh Tabor, co-author of Statistical Reasoning in Sports.  Josh Tabor has taught high school, including AP Statistics, for over two decades, most recently at his alma mater, Canyon del Oro High School in Oro Valley, Arizona.  Josh was named one of the five finalists for Arizona Teacher of the Year in 2011 and, each year, leads one-week AP Summer Institutes and College Board workshops.

Parents, join Distinguished Visiting Professor Tim Chartier and special guest Josh Tabor for an hour of math learning, designed with you in mind.  Starting with the basics, we'll explore — and learn to leap right over — some of the most common stumbling blocks in K–12 math.  Anything that you or your child ever found confusing is fair game!

This is an online-only event.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
