  of Mathematics at Middlebury College\, where he h
 as taught for three decades. He is the author of t
 he widely used textbook <i>Understanding Analysis<
 /i> (Springer\, 2015) and a former co-editor of <i
 >Math Horizons</i>.  His recent book\, <a href="ht
