QED: Pitfalls for Parents
Tuesday, November 29 at 7:00 pm ET (New York)
(online)
Parents, join Distinguished Visiting Professor Steven Strogatz and Hortensia Soto for an hour of math learning, designed with you in mind. Starting with the basics, we'll explore — and learn to leap right over — some of the most common stumbling blocks in K–12 math. Anything that you or your child ever found confusing is fair game!
Hortensia Soto is a professor of mathematics at Colorado State University and the president-elect of the Mathematical Association of America. She works in the Embodied Mathematics Imagination and Cognition community and has published research into mathematical education at levels ranging from elementary to undergraduate.
This is an online-only event. Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
