March MATLABness

featuring Dr. Tim Chartier and Dr. Wesley Hamilton of MathWorks

Tuesday, March 7 at 6:30 pm ET

(online)

It’s March and time for the Madness of the NCAA Division 1 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.  Millions of fans are looking for tips on bracket-making as they try to predict the winning teams!  Come and learn how to use mathematics and develop your own bracket-making method in MATLAB, an application that helps mathematicians, scientists, and engineers analyze data, develop algorithms, and create mathematical models.  Learn how math can help tame the Madness of March!

Hosted by Dr. Tim Chartier, MoMath’s Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Public Dissemination of Mathematics, and featuring special guest, Dr. Wesley Hamilton of MathWorks, the company that makes MATLAB.

Any registrants who do not have access to the MATHLAB application will be provided with a complimentary, temporary workshop license for use during this event.

This online session is appropriate for adults and students in middle school and up.

This is an online-only event.  Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
