QED: Pitfalls for Parents
Friday, October 21 at 6:30 pm ET (New York)
(online)
Parents, join Distinguished Visiting Professor Tim Chartier and Dr. Henry Neale for an hour of math learning, designed with you in mind. Starting with the basics, we'll explore — and learn to leap right over — some of the most common stumbling blocks in K–12 math. Anything that you or your child ever found confusing is fair game!
Dr. Neale has a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on K–12 math professional development. The discussion will focus on how to push the instructional needle away from procedures focused on getting the right answer toward math classrooms in which students are constantly asked to think mathematically.
This is an online-only event. Occasional video recordings are made available for a fee at videos.momath.org.
