Students will learn that any collection of items is called a group, and that when two individual items are grouped together, the group can be called a pair. After reading A Pair of Socks by Stuart Murphy, students will find matching socks to form pairs. Students will match pictures to verbal descriptions of item groupings and divide collections of items into smaller groups of equal size.
Materials needed: activity sheets to be provided (print prior to session) and one marker or pencil.
