"Fractions: Parts of a Group"

Students will learn how to write a fraction to represent a part of a group. What fraction of a given menagerie, for instance, is made up of zebras? What fraction of the given shapes are hexagons? Students will practice associating verbal, pictorial, and numerical representations of parts of a group.
Materials needed: activity sheets to be provided (to be printed prior to session) and one marker or pencil.
