MathPlay for Pentagons (5s):
"Two-Dimensional Shapes"
Tuesday, February 2 at 5:45 pm ET (New York)
Students will learn about the properties — including number of sides and vertices — of various two-dimensional shapes. They will match pictures of shapes to verbal descriptions. Given a colorful assortment of shapes, students will estimate which shape appears most and which appears least; they will then find the exact number of each shape shown.
Materials needed: activity sheets to be provided (to be printed and cut prior to session) and one marker or pencil.
