Join MoMath under the arches of the 59th Street Bridge for a celebration of Alan Alda and Steve Strogatz's contributions to the public understanding and appreciation of mathematics.  During the cocktail hour, magician Mark Mitton will present surprises from the frontiers of chaos and cards in celebration of the evening’s honorees, and MoMath hopes also to provide a peek at the combinatorial art of Davor Vrankić.  On your way to dinner, become a part of Julia's Stars, MoMath's latest participatory artwork, inspired by a chaotic attractor discovered by Gaston Julia.  The dinner hour will feature a conversation with and between Alan and Steve; an entertaining (and interactive) look at the study of chaos, a focus of Prof. Strogatz's research; and of course plenty of good food, drink, and conviviality.  The event is nearing capacity; register now.
